New parkway trails, landscaping and parking facilities are coming soon to the Port of Kalama at the north end of Marine Drive. The plans call for tree-lined berms, rain gardens, improved parking and walking trails along the Columbia River. Check back frequently for updates.
UPDATE March 24 – P.R. Worth, of Kelso WA was awarded the $1,062,815.91 project in the public bidding process. P.R. Worth utilizes best practices, such as 100% water soluble biodegradable hydraulic fluid in their equipment to protect the environment and waterways. The company has hired all local subcontractors. The Notice to Proceed was issued this week, and initial survey work will begin immediately. The project will be completed by late summer.
