As part of long-range planning to create consistency among Port facilities on the waterfront, Port of Kalama plans exterior improvements to office building.
KALAMA, WASHINGTON (PRWEB) JUNE 26, 2015
The Port of Kalama received two bids for the cladding—coating and protecting the exterior—of the former Port administrative building which now houses Northwest Innovation Works headquarter offices. The apparent low bidder is JH Kelly with a bid of $382,438 which includes renovation of siding and adding a pitched roof, which will make the building more efficient to maintain.
The building, which was constructed in 1975 and expanded in 1991, will share the same exterior features as the Port’s new administrative offices. The Port recently constructed—and moved into—the new administrative building which replicates a traditional waterfront warehouse of the 1800s. To create some design consistency, the exterior and roofing of this building will be treated similarly.
The project is expected to start toward the end of July and run through October. General business activity at the Port will not be interrupted during this time.
