KALAMA, WASHINGTON (PRWEB) JULY 16, 2013

The Port of Kalama will become home to one of the region’s largest providers of dry kilns, parts and services for the forest products industry, Christiansen Enterprises LLC. Christiansen, which successfully weathered the downturn in the economy, is emerging now with a company expansion to the Port of Kalama to deliver on increasing demand for their services. Christiansen moved into the 10,500 square foot Kalama facility on June 1, 2013, and continues serving the giants of the lumber industry while in transition.

Christiansen Enterprises provides kilns, parts and comprehensive on-site services for some of the nation’s largest forest products companies like Weyerhaeuser, Hampton Forest Products, Georgia Pacific, WKO, and most Pacific NW lumber mills.

“Port of Kalama offers us an ideal location to both serve our customers in the forest products industry, and the port staff are about as supportive and helpful as you can get – welcoming us, and helping with our growth and transition in ways we couldn’t have expected,” said Joe Christiansen, owner, Christiansen Enterprises. “And I’ve got to be honest, Kalama’s place on both the Columbia River and Kalama River is a real draw for us as life-long fishermen and lovers of the great outdoors. It’s ideal.”

Christiansen Enterprises joins a growing number of industries and businesses who have found the Port of Kalama an ideal location to grow their businesses. The Port boasts a new Industrial Park and acres of shovel-ready land for manufacturing, technology, storage and many other industry sectors. Sixteen acres of public riverfront parks stand out as popular recreational destinations for both locals and tourists. Port officials cite several advantages for businesses like Christiansen to expand operations in Kalama including:

“We welcome Christiansen to our growing community of manufacturing and industrial businesses—their reputation as a high-quality service provider in an industry founded here in the Pacific Northwest is a boon for Kalama,” said Mark Wilson, executive director, Port of Kalama. “The region is beginning to experience an economic rebound and Kalama is perfectly placed to support businesses ready to grow to the next level.”
